Lake Country residents can feel safer at home.

The Okanagan Centre Fire evacuation alert has been rescinded for 58 properties on Nighthawk, Long and Tyndall Roads.

To ensure public safety, stay out of fire-affected areas and obey all warning and hazard signs, according to a Central Okanagan Emgency Operations release.

Parks, trails and public and private lands in the area of the fire remain closed, including Jack Seaton Park and trails.

Residents can find more information on what to do when returning home after a forest fire.

As the fire is 100 per cent contained and no further residents remain on evacuation order or alert, the Emergency Operation Centre is standing down for this event.
