An eventual stop at a doughnut shop saw a 21-year-old driver handed a 24-hour driving suspension.

At 9 p.m. on Jan. 12, Sicamous RCMP attempted to pull over the driver of a pickup truck on Highway 1 due to non-working rear tail lights.

"The driver took an unusually long distance to come to a stop, finally doing so in the Tim Hortons parking lot," said Sicamous RCMP Sgt. Murray McNeil in a media release.

The officer immediately noticed a "strong odour of burnt cannabis" emanating from the truck's interior, and its driver showing visible signs of impairment.
