A pair of drivers were shaken up but without physical injury following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 1 near Canoe.

Police response to the Feb. 11 incident was prompted by an abandoned 911 call, later determined to have been for a two-vehicle collision in the 8000 block of the Trans-Canada.

Attending officers found a blue Ford Fusion with passenger side damage stopped in the middle of the highway, and a grey Lexus SUV with front end damage that had come to a stop in the east bound side ditch, said Salmon Arm RCMP media relations officer Const. Andrew Hodges in a news release.

The drivers were the lone occupants of their respective vehicles.

"Police learned that the Ford caused the collision by suddenly turning for no apparent reason in front of the on-coming Lexus," said Hodges, adding there were no indications of impairment, though police conducted a mandatory breath demand on the driver of the Ford, who blew zero.

The Ford driver was served a violation ticket for crossing a double solid line, and both vehicles were towed from the scene.
