The annual Creative Spaces Summit is back and featuring feedback from local artists.

In 2016, more than 200 local artists shared information about the spaces they work in, challenges they were encountering in accessing creative spaces, and ideas for change.

The purpose of the summit is to share findings from these consultations and continue the conversation about creative spaces in Kelowna.

The event features speakers from three successful creative hubs in Vancouver, and the opportunity to learn about new projects and resources in Kelowna, which might help artists improve their access to creative spaces.

The summit will be held Tuesday, June 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Laurel Packinghouse, 1304 Ellis Street.

Also featured is a presentation about SpaceFinder BC, a free online service that matches artists and art organizations with spaces that fit their needs. SpaceFinder BC is a free-to-list, free-to-search online database that enables artists and arts organizations to search for creative spaces that meet their needs in terms of location, amenities, availability, pricing, and more.

Venues can create listings with photos, rental rates and equipment, and upload a digital calendar to the site so that bookings can be made directly through the SpaceFinder platform.
