A West Kelowna woman is dead after a fatal crash on Highway 97, Saturday.
The 85-year-old was involved in a head-on-collision with another vehicle near Monte Lake about 2:30 p.m.
The woman was the sole occument of a 2000 Buick Century and was declared deceased at the scene.
Travelling southboung was a GMC pick-up truck driven by a 27-year-old man from Kamloops who was accompanied by a 23 year-old Kamloops woman, neither of whom suffered any physical injuries.
According to RCMP initial scene examination noted that the collision occurred in a curve with the elderly woman having encroached into the opposite lane. Weather and road condition were not considered a factor.

A crash five kilometres south of Monte Lake has closed Highway 97, the main route linking Kamloops to Vernon.
The accident occurred at about 2:50 p.m. on Saturday.
Two ambulances were at the scene and one left without sirens at about 3:30 p.m. A BC Air Ambulance was also seen in the area.
DriveBC said there is a detour available for northbound vehicles travelling toward Kamloops. The detour is at Chase-Falkland Road. For southbound vehicles heading toward Vernon, there is no detour.
DriveBC said there is no estimated time of reopening the highway, with the next update scheduled for 5 p.m.
