It was a meeting nobody wanted.
The driver of a southbound Toyota SUV and a CP Rail snow-clearing vehicle arrived at the railway crossing at Third Street NW and Lakeshore Drive at the same time.
An RCMP press release notes that a snow-clearing machine had been working on the tracks and collided with the SUV at 5:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18.
The investigation has been referred to CP Police for further investigation, with the assistance of the Salmon Arm detachment, says Staff Sgt. Scott West in the Jan. 19 release.
There is no report of injuries and West says the RCMP will have no further comment on the ongoing investigation.
