An RCMP officer could possibly face charges related to a motor vehicle accident in Coldstream last year.

The Independent Investigations Office of B.C.香蕉视频直播檚 chief civilian director has completed a review of a file related to an Aug. 6, 2016 accident and has submitted a report to Crown counsel for consideration of charges.

香蕉视频直播淚n approving charges, Crown counsel must be satisfied not only that an offence may have been committed, but that the commission of an offence can be proven in court beyond a reasonable doubt.香蕉视频直播

Crown Counsel香蕉视频直播檚 policy for assessment relies on a two part test:

There must be a substantial likelihood of conviction based on the evidence gathered by the investigating agency.

A prosecution must be required in the public interest.

At about 8 a.m. Aug. 6, 2016, an accident occurred when an RCMP vehicle and a motorcycle collided on Highway 6, near Brewer Road.

The two Kelowna occupants of the motorcycle 香蕉视频直播 a 46-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman 香蕉视频直播 were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries while the RCMP officer was uninjured.

Once Crown counsel has made a decision on the file, an update will be posted www.iiobc.ca/cases.
