Police are investigating a suspicious death that occurred in downtown Vernon.
The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP responded to a report of a deceased person in the downtown core around 7 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9. The body of a man was found in the creek of a wooded area between 31st Avenue and the FreshCo towards the north end of the park.
Police have identified the man as 55-year-old Cory Fregin of Vernon.
Police are appealing to the public for help with the investigation.
"The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP香蕉视频直播檚 Serious Crime Unit has taken conduct of the investigation and are reaching out to the public for information about this death," said Cpl. Tania Finn, media relations officer. "Cory was found wearing a red and black plaid jacket and we are requesting anyone who saw this man in this area on Dec. 8 or Dec. 9 to reach out to police."
Anyone with information on Fregin's death or his whereabouts on Monday or Tuesday, or anyone who has dashcam footage of Fregin or saw anysuspicious activity on or near 31st Avenue near the creek on those dates is urged to contact the RCMP detachment at 250-545-7171, or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or leaving a tip online at .
Fregin was wanted by police in 2005 for a suspension of his parole, according to Crime Stoppers.
