Around $53,000 in city grant money going to community groups.
In a letter received at the March 10 Salmon Arm council meeting, the Shuswap Community Foundation (SCF), which administers the city grants-in-aid program, lists funding recipients from the latest cycle. Grant distribution is decided on by the foundation's Grants-in-Aid Adjudication Committee, of which Salmon Arm Mayor Alan Harrison is a member.
"With $66,068.72 available, and requests totalling $99,527, the Committee faced difficult decisions," reads the letter from SCF executive director Roger Parenteau.
