VIDEO: Young Olympic hopefuls test their skills in Kelowna

RBC Training Ground is in its 10th year

RBC Training Ground stopped at the University of B.C. Okanagan in Kelowna on Feb. 16, to check out the skills of 50 athletes from the region all with a dream of reaching the Olympics.

Athletes are tested on power, strength, speed, and endurance.

Olympic freestyle skier and RBC Ambassador Elena Gaskell offered some advice to the young athletes.

"I think it's important to dream big," Gaskell said. "I have wanted to be an Olympian for as long as I can remember, when I was very young. I just kept working towards it and I made it there. So, if you have a dream just keep working towards it."

Three RBC Training Ground athletes have gone on to medal at an Olympic games, Jerome Blake, Avalon Wasteneys and Carissa Norsten.
