Kelowna Rockets chew up Moose Jaw Warriors in 6-0 win

Kelowna's Tij Iginla had a hattrick in the Rockets 6-0 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors on Friday, Oct. 25, 2024.

The Kelowna returned to the win column in style with a 6-0 spanking of the Moose Jaw Warriors at Prospera Place on Friday, Oct. 25.

Tij Iginla (7) potted his first of three on the night, and the game-winner, at 8:25 of the first period assisted by Andrew Cristall and Rowan Guest. Iginla (8) put the Rockets up 2-0 almost 20 minutes later at 7:29 of the second period. Cristall and Max Graham had the assists.

Cristall (5) made it 3-0 Kelowna, on the powerplay, just over three minutes later with Iginla getting the helper. Iginla (9) got his own powerplay goal to complete the hattrick and put the Rockets up 4-0 at 15:48. Cristall and Caden Price assisted. 

The Rockets took a 5-0 lead at 9:17 of the third period when Jackson Gillespie (1) found the back of the net with Guest and Kanjyu Gojsic getting the assists. Brett Calhoon (3) completed the 6-0 win with his third goal of the season at 19:41. Gillespie and Connor Pankratz assisted.

Jake Pilon made 17 saves to earn the shutout and the Rockets went 2/3 on the powerplay, outshooting the Warriors 46/17.  

KelownaÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s next game is not until Nov. 5 as they travel to Washington to play the Spokane Chiefs. The Rockets next home game is Nov. 8 against the Saskatoon Blades.
