West Kelowna investigators now believe a grass fire at the Glenrosa Road and Highway 97 interchange may have been caused by a downed power line.
There were heavy winds in the area at the time, and power was knocked out for parts of West Kelowna, Peachland and Summerland around 4:45 p.m. shortly before the fire was reported.

West Kelowna fire crews made quick work of a grass fire near the Gorman lumber mill on Sunday, Aug. 18.
Several 911 calls came in just before 5 p.m. reporting a fire in the grass and trees at the Glenrosa Road/Highway 97 interchange.
With smoke visible across the city, crews from all four fire stations responded.
First arriving firefighters worked hard to keep the fire from spreading in dry grass, driven by wind, and crews stopped the fire from reach the mill.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, however, Brolund added it was likely human-caused.
