The Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) has issued a precautionary water quality advisory for residents on the Star Place water system north of Peachland.
An RDCO media release states the advisory is needed due to increased turbidity in source water caused by the annual freshet.
This affects eight properties and roadside sign notices will be in place to let homeowners know of the advisory.
Residents, especially those with weakened immune systems, children and the elderly, should boil all water for at least one minute used for drinking, washing fruit and vegetables, making beverages, ice or brushing teeth. Customers may choose to use bottled or distilled water.
This advisory will remain in effect until further notice and testing confirms water quality is within acceptable Canadian drinking water guidelines.
