Suspect nabbed in West Kelowna fails to outrun RCMP helicopter, police dog

Police Service Dog, Mysan, helped catch a suspect who tried to run from RCMP in West Kelowna on March 10, 2025.

 A 45-year-old man is in custody after what West Kelowna RCMP hare calling a 香蕉视频直播渄ynamic arrest香蕉视频直播 involving police air and dog services, and several officers.

The incident started around 12 p.m. on March 10, when RCMP were alerted to a suspect vehicle heading south on Westside Road. The vehicle was linked to a possible theft of wire in the Vernon area. RCMP Air Services quickly located the vehicle and relayed updates to officers on the ground, who tried to stop the vehicle. However, the driver sped off toward the Rose Valley area in West Kelowna.

The chase came to an end on Olympus Way, where the suspect ditched the vehicle and made a run for it. However, Police Service Dog Mysan and his handler tracked him down almost immediately, leading to his quick arrest.

The suspect sustained minor injuries and remains in custody. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 11.
