The slogan 'working smoke alarms save lives' rang true on Wednesday morning (Dec. 4) in Lake Country.

Just before 6 a.m., Lake Country fire crews were called out to a fire in the 14000 block of Pelmewash Parkway. 

香蕉视频直播淯pon arrival, crews found the single occupant outside of the home with a neighbour who had extinguished the growing fire inside of a constructed room leading to the residence," said Lake Country Deputy Fire Chief Kynan O香蕉视频直播橰ourke. "The stairs leading to the residence were moments away from igniting due to the fire below them, which may have impeded the ability to escape from the structure using the main egress.香蕉视频直播� 

In October, as part of Fire Prevention Month, Lake Country fire crews worked with homeowners who were adding attached rooms to their houses and reminded them of the  importance of installing smoke alarms while construction was ongoing. This home was one of the many fire crews attended in October.

No injuries were reported from the fire.
