A Kelowna boxing club is looking to raise funds to replace its boxing ring after a fire swept through a neighbouring business and damaged the club on May 26.
The fire sparked outside PM Automotive on Kent Road around 9:20 a.m.
The Kelowna Fire Department was able to knock down the fire, but not before the business was completely destroyed.
Neighbouring business Madkatz Boxing felt the heat as the fire caught the ring used annually for the Cailen Vilness Memorial Boxing Championship.
The fundraiser reads, "We are asking for some help from the community to replace our boxing ring, without it we may not be able to continue hosting our charity events and giving back to the community. All donations are greatly appreciated!"
The is over $2,000 raised in less than 24 hours from being launched.
The goal is to raise $12,500 to replace the ring.
Kelowna RCMP are investigating the fire as arson.
