New bike park in Lake Country opens, welcomes riders of all levels

A day after having its trails damaged, the Lake Country Bike Park has opened to the public.

The park offers a variety of features:

  • Beginner and intermediate pump tracks;
  • A dirt jump zone with progression-focused jump lines for all levels, from beginner to expert;
  • A drop zone with three lines for intermediate to expert riders;
  • An intermediate technical skills loop;
  • Multi-use and gravity trails ranging from beginner to intermediate;
  • A mulch jump for practicing big air;
  • An adaptive mountain bike trail for greater inclusivity.

The park, located at 8865 Okanagan Centre Road, is expected to be hub for outdoor enthusiasts, and bolster Lake Country's reputation as an adventure tourism destination. The project cost $500,000.

"This park not only enhances recreational opportunities but will also stimulate economic growth, attracting both locals and visitors," Ireland added. It香蕉视频直播檚 another fantastic destination that complements the many other mountain biking options in the Okanagan."

The Lake Country Bike Park will be open daily from dawn to dusk. It is unsupervised and riders use at their own risk. The grand opening for the park is scheduled for Saturday, May 3.

On March 27, RCMP were called to the park after a pick up truck had gained access to the area, damaging trails. The driver abandoned the uninsured vehicle. 

Police ask anyone who witnessed the incident, or has information to provide, to call Lake Country RCMP at 250-766-2288.
