Kelowna's best in business celebrated at annual chamber gala

KF Aerospace was named Large Business of the Year

It was a full house of city officials and big business names at the 2024 Kelowna Chamber Business Excellence Awards on Nov. 15. 

Dressed to impress at the Delta Hotel, gala attendees were treated to table wines from Summerhill Pyramid Winery, an online silent auction, and a live painting auction with artist Jordan Perkins. 

With over 400 nominees across 15 categories, the handful of judges dedicated hours ahead of the gala to interviewing, researching, and discussing each potential before narrowing it down to three finalists presented at the gala. Each finalist business was highlighted with a video before the award sponsor broke open the envelope to reveal the best of the best. 

The winners of the 2024 Kelowna Chamber Business Excellence Awards are:

  • Excellence in  Not-For-Profit, Child & Youth Advocacy Centre of Kelowna
  • Excellence in Arts and Entertainment, SncÉ™wips Heritage Museum
  • Excellence in Tourism, Kelowna Concierge
  • Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Kristian de Pont of Good Sorts Property Services & Prime Concrete Coatings
  • Rising Star Business of the Year, Love It Dental
  • Excellence in Environmental Impact, Habitat for Humanity Okanagan
  • Excellence in Agriculture, Homestead Foods
  • Excellence in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, STRIVE Support Services
  • Small Business of the Year, Hatch Interior Design Inc. 
  • Mid Size Business of the Year, New Horizon Productions
  • Technology Innovator of the Year, PRE Labs Inc. 
  • Excellence in Community Impact, Do Gooders
  • Indigenous Business of the Year, Dayton Janz - IG Private Wealth Management
  • Large Business of the Year, KF Aerospace

The most prestigious award presented through the evening was that of Business Leader of the Year, awarded to KGH Foundation CEO Allison Young. 

"Allison Young is an accomplished leader with more than 20 years of experience in the social impact sector, recognized for her visionary approach to organizational strategy and community impact," the Chamber wrote of Young. "With a deep commitment to advancing health and wellness, Allie has built a reputation for fostering resilient teams, driving operational excellence, and designing strategies that transform vision into reality."
