Kelowna council eyes possible changes to podium, microsuite regulations

Kelowna city staff will be digging into policies that guide building podiums and microsuites that are part of new developments.

Mayor Tom Dyas brought the topics council香蕉视频直播檚 Jan. 27 meeting, after stating an intention to do so in December. The reviews may eventually require changes to the Official Community Plan (OCP).

香蕉视频直播淭he most effective way to make meaningful updates to the OCP is to ask these questions, task our staff with reviewing specific sessions and sections and come back to us with thoughtful answers on why we're doing the things we're doing that specific way,香蕉视频直播 Dyas explained. 香蕉视频直播淭his approach allows us to base decisions on clear, sensible information and adjust our by laws to better serve Kelowna香蕉视频直播 residents.香蕉视频直播 

The reviews are not about creating more regulations, but ensuring current policies are working as intended, the mayor added. He also noted staff and council are working within the confines of the OCP.

香蕉视频直播淭he potential outcome may be that we just continue on because now we have the information that we're missing at this point in time, or potential outcome may be that we look at something and say, we think we may need to change that,香蕉视频直播 he said.

Staff is currently reviewing the city香蕉视频直播檚 parking policy. It香蕉视频直播檚 expected the building podium and microsuites reviews will be presented to council in March and April this year.
