A snowfall warning is in effect on the Trans-Canada Highway.
Heavy snow is expected through the morning and into the afternoon between Eagles Pass and Rogers Pass.
Up to 25 centimetres is forecast to fall before the end of the day.
Drivers are urged to use caution as conditions can rapidly change in the mountains and snow may limit visibility in some areas.
