The Mark Anthony Group of Companies which includes Mission Hill and White Claw Hard Seltzer, has purchased the former BC Tree Fruits Co-operative (BCTFC) Vaughan Property.
The property located at 880 Vaughan Avenue is a 5.2-acre industrial site with a 195,159 square foot warehouse and was BCTFC香蕉视频直播檚 head office. According to court documents BCTFC hired Unison HM Commercial Realty to market the Vaughan Property in February 2024, ahead of the announcement that BCTFC had filed for creditor protection.
The property was originally listed at $28 million, however, after 21 private viewings and one failed sale in September the price was dropped to $22 million.
On Oct.1, Mark Anthony paid a deposit of $ 1.75 million and once subjects were removed the offer was amended to substitute Pelecanus Real Estate Ltd. in place of Mark Anthony, as purchaser.
The $ 1.75 million offer is the best to date according to a notice of application filed in the Supreme Court of B.C.
This sale comes after the announcement from the District of Lake Country, that it has purchased the former BC Tree Fruits property located at 9718 Bottom Wood Lake Road.
Shortly after the nearly nine-decade-old cooperative declared bankruptcy in July, the 8.4-acre lot and packing plant, conveniently located next to the Winfield Arena activity hub, went up for sale.
In Vancouver Court on Aug. 26, BC Tree Fruit Co-op was ordered to sell its assets in order to repay $50 million in debt to CIBC. As per the court order, properties, equipment and land across the Okanagan were listed for sale.
The 73,000-square-foot building and 8.3-acre property at Bottom Wood Lake Road was listed on realtor.ca for $10,995,000.
The District of Lake Country bid $9.1 million for the lot and on Nov. 27, the court-ordered sale was approved.
The land and buildings offer the possibility for the location of a new RCMP detachment, a recreational site or public use spaces, said Lake Country Mayor Blair Ireland.
, a company specializing in the processing and storage of agricultural products and pharmaceuticals, announced on Sept. 6, that it has officially taken possession of the former BC Tree Fruits facility located on Sexsmith Rd.
Hours later, an orchard, and sparkling juice company specializing in the waste reduction of imperfect fruit, announced that it has secured access to the facility's specialized storage spaces to help local producers.
