SuperSave disposal bins have been placed around Lake Country to collect green waste in an effort to fire smart the community.

The Lake Country Fire Department open house and FireSmart day were a success on June 15.

Families visited Station 71 throughout the day for lunch, activities, and information on how to better protect the community during wildfire season.

The district launched a new initiative to help make the task of fire-proofing the community a little easier.

SuperSave disposal bins have been placed around town for people to get rid of yard waste and other green materials.

The bins are currently located at the north access for Station 71 and on Camp Road near Jack Seaton Park.

The bins will be dumped regularly and more could be added around the district in the future.
