A house undergoing renovations suffered damaged from a late night fire on Wednesday night.
Around 9 p.m. on Feb. 7, the Kelowna Fire Department (KFD) received calls about a structure fire in the 1200 block of Belgo Road.
When crews first arrived at the scene, they observed heavy brown smoke coming from all sides of the house. Fire crews found the owner, who told them the house is under renovation and no one was inside.
Because of the strength of the fire, the roof of the home started to cave in. Fire crews decided to not enter the structure and battle from blaze from outside.
KFD responded with three engines, a rescue unit, a tender, a safety unit, a deputy chief and a command unit, totalling of 17 personnel. The RCMP, emergency services, and Fortis also attended the scene.
