Lumby man Trent Dorais, who was missing for over a week, has been found deceased according to a member of his family.
"Trent was located today and we now have closure; unfortunately, this was not the outcome we all wanted but feel comfort that Trent is now at peace," Dorais' step-father, Lumby resident Corey Dunn, wrote on Facebook Saturday morning.
Dorais' sister shared on Facebook that Dorais had been located. She did not say whether he had been found alive.
"Thank you to everyone that has helped," the sister wrote.
Dunn's post elicited an outpouring of condolences for the family. Close to 600 people reacted to the post Saturday morning.
The Morning Star reached out to the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP Saturday morning but did not get a response by publication.

It's been more than a week since the family of Lumby's Trent Dorais has heard from their son and brother.
The family has reached out via social media for any information on Dorais, 33, who was last seen near the village on Thursday, March 20, leaving a friend's house on Mabel Lake Road in the Sigalet area. No one, said the family, has heard from or seen him since.
"He drives a black Ford Escape, mid-2000s, with rust around the fenders, and he left his home without any of his belongings," wrote the family.
The vehicle's licence plate number is PF348M.
There has been a missing persons report filed with the RCMP Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥“ File No. NR25-1454.
"The RCMP are involved," said the family. "The police have tried to ping his phone unsuccessfully as it has been dead for too long now."
The RCMP have confirmed they are investigating a missing person with that name.
One family member posted that Dorais "suffers severely from depression at times and has been in a low as of late," and believes the missing man may have ventured up a forestry road in the Lumby or Cherryville area.
Dorais is a B.C. Hockey League alumnus. The forward played five years in the league, 2007-2012, with the Vernon Vipers and Alberni Valley Bulldogs.
