UPDATE: 2 people taken to hospital in Highway 33 crash in Kelowna

Highway 33 westbound reopened at 11 p.m.

No criminality or impairment is suspected in a two-vehicle crash that took place on at Highway 33 and Homer Road in Rutland on Monday, Dec. 16.

The crash happened around 3:40 p.m., and caused one of the vehicles to crash into a power pole.

As a result of the crash, two people, the driver and passenger in one of the vehicles, were taken to hospital for with minor injuries. The other driver was treated at the scene but reported no injuries.

It's believed speed was also no a factor in the collision.

Emergency crews, fire, the RCMP, and FortisBC all attended the scene. 

The crash resulted in Highway 33 westbound being closed for nearly seven hours. It reopened at 11 p.m.
