West Kelowna residents are asked for input on the city香蕉视频直播檚 Community Wildfire Resiliency Plan (CWRP).
The plan will help enhance wildfire resiliency and prioritizing risk management where homes and buildings intersect with forested areas and is the primary wildfire risk reduction tool for B.C. communities.
The draft document contains 20 recommendations and priority mapped areas around the community.
香蕉视频直播淭hose maps outline and prioritize wildfire mitigation activities that need to happen in the community over the next five years or so,香蕉视频直播 Fire Chief Jason Brolund told council at its Oct. 22 meeting.
The plan identifies 60 areas from a 0.50 hectares city park to 1,000 ha. and are ranked in order of importance.
香蕉视频直播淲hen people phone and say I think this area in my community needs to be mitigated we香蕉视频直播檙e able to look at it and say it香蕉视频直播檚 on the list but it香蕉视频直播檚 number 55 of 60, or it香蕉视频直播檚 not on the list,香蕉视频直播 Brolund added.
The CWRP builds on the recommendations of the 2018 Community Wildfire Preparedness Plan (CWPP).
Residents are invited to an open house to ask questions, learn about FireSmart practices:
