The 5th annual Parade with a Purpose will take over Bernard Ave in Downtown Kelowna for the first time this year.
Traditionally held in Kettle Valley, the event started as a way to spread holiday cheer during the pandemic while raising funds for a good cause.
Last year's parade collected $118,000 and the goal doubles that this year at $250,000 to support the Bridge Youth Recovery House. Every dollar donated to the 2024 parade is being matched by the Stober Foundation.
On Dec. 14, Bernard Ave. will be closed as nearly 40 floats parade down the street.
A has been launched online to bolster the funds.
Running until Dec. 13, items up for bidding include a Canucks vs. Oliers VIP game package, a hot air balloon ride, men's and women's wellness packages, family adventure packages, and a tire package from Kal Tire.
