Avalanche control work at Big White.

Big White Ski Resort has posted a safety reminder on after a group of skiers were caught crossing avalanche closure ropes.

An avalanche safety team had to delay work twice on Dec. 8 in the Parachute Bowl, the first after seeing ski tracks leading into the lower bowl and a second time when a group disregarded barriers and entered the bowl during active blasting.

"We want every guest and team member to return home safely," the social media post reads.

Big White also stated that anyone not in 100 per cent compliance with avalanche closures will have their resort pass suspended.
