Local dancers will take the stage for a timeless family classic put on by audience favourite Ballet Jorgen next week.

The Vernon & District Performing Arts Centre Society (VDPAC) welcomes the return of Ballet Jorgen with their touring production of the beloved childhood tale of Sleeping Beauty Thursday, Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m.

Among the ensemble of 22 dancers, 11 young, local dancers are given the opportunity to perform with the professional dance company. The dancers represent Okanagan Dance Studios, Okanagan School of Ballet, Shuswap Dance Centre and The Dance Gallery.

This major new ballet tells the enduring story of Aurora and her prince complete with its magical qualities and dazzling choreography, danced to the beautiful original 1890 score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and is set to a libretto based on Charles Perrault香蕉视频直播檚 story La Belle au bois dormant.

This enchanting fairy tale about a young woman placed under a spell to sleep for 100 years, only to be awakened by a kiss appeals to a child香蕉视频直播檚 imagination and holds a special, unforgettable place in the hearts of adults.
