Overtime and shootouts have not been kind to the West Kelowna Warriors lately.

In their last 10 games, the Warriors have gone beyond regulation four times Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥” losing all four. The most recent losses came this weekend with a 3-2 overtime loss to the Trail Smoke Eaters on Friday (Nov. 29) and a 2-1 shootout defeat to the Spruce Grove Saints on Saturday. Both games were at Royal LePage Place (RLP).

Jackson Krykostas (5) scored the lone goal for the Warriors in the first period on Saturday, finding the back of the net at 18:43. The Saints tied it up in the second period with Cole Kronewitt (1) scoring at 8:47. The game remained deadlocked until Stephen Kirkpatrick clinched the win for Spruce Grove in the shootout.

West Kelowna was outshot 34-31 in the game and went 0-4 on the powerplay.

The Warriors will look to turn things around as they host the Cranbrook Bucks at RLP on Wednesday (Dec. 4), followed by a matchup with the Sherwood Park Crusaders on Saturday.
