The man facing charges from a 2022 Canada Day shooting in Osoyoos will appear in court for a 10-day trial in Kelowna beginning on Nov. 25.
Steven Marlo Gallagher was charged with aggravated assault and careless use of a firearm after firing a gun at a Canada Day celebration at Osoyoos Lake on July 1, 2022.
He will be tried by both a judge and a jury.
Gallagher allegedly got into an altercation with a man from Maple Ridge shortly before the fireworks display began.
He then reportedly fired multiple rounds from his gun and shot the victim in the hip before fleeing the area.
Several witnesses at the scene identified Gallagher to police and he was arrested.
Gallagher is currently in custody after being found guilty of setting fire to a pharmacy building and for firearms-related convictions from 2021.
