Hedge fire near Kelowna Dental Centre extinguished

The cause is currently under investigation

A hedge fire that sparked near Kelowna's Dental Centre was safely extinguished on Sunday afternoon.

The fire began around 3:15 p.m.

Kelowna RCMP officers were the first on scene and attempted to put out the blaze with a fire extinguisher. 

The Kelowna Fire Department responded also and actioned the blaze using a water truck and a nearby fire hydrant. 

There was minor heat damage to the side of the building. 

The cause is currently under investigation.

The fire captain is reminding residents of the increased heat this week stating everyone needs to do their part to ensure a safe week ahead.
