This upcoming long weekend is Family Day and the City of West Kelowna has lots of activities in store.
Here are some of the free events for families to stay active and have fun on Monday, Feb. 17:
- Multi-Sport Centre
- 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥“ Dome play day (0-5 yrs and 6+ yrs sections) - Mar Jok Elementary School
- 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥“ Family obstacle course
- 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥“ Craft station - Jim Lind Area
- 12:15 p.m. - 1:15 p.m. Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥“ Big little skate
- 1:30 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥“ Public skate
There is also public skating at Jim Lund Arena with regular admission costs on Saturday and Sunday:
- Public skate Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥“ Saturday, Feb. 15, 11:15 a.m. Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥“ 12:30 p.m.
- Big and little (five years and under) Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥“ Sunday, Feb. 16, 1:30 Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥“ 2:30 p.m.
- Public skate Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥“ Sunday, Feb. 16, 2:45 p.m. Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥“ 4:00 p.m.
Swimming is also available at the Johnson Bentley Memorial Aquatic Centre. The long weekend schedule and prices can be found on the .
According to the city, there are other options to have fun over the weekend as well:
- Strolling or rolling along the Gellatly waterfront
- Hiking the Mount Boucherie Rush Trail or in Glen Canyon, Goats Peak, or Kalamoir
- Visit Gellatly Nut Farm Regional Park
- Playing at one of the
BC Transit will run it's Sunday schedule on the holiday Monday.
