With more than 30 years of singing under his belt, Christian gospel singer Brian Doerksen will be making a return to the stage this September, and will be bringing along a friend, Marika Stewart. 

The concert tour kicks off in Vernon on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the Grace Bible Church, before heading to Kelowna on the 12th and Penticton on the 13th.

Doerksen released his first album in 1994, called Father's House. Since then, he has released numerous albums, EPs and two books. 

"I'm really looking forward to these evenings of music and connection with everyone who comes out," said Doerksen, who also runs an online course to mentor aspiring young songwriters. 

A new single, Father to Son, will be released on Sept. 13, and will be available on major streaming platforms. A new album is also expected to come out soon, as it will be a collection of love songs "40 years in the making," according to Doerksen. 

Fans will also have the opportunity to sponsor songs on the album, dedicating them to their own long-lasting love stories. 

"It's been a great experience working on these songs," he said. "I can't wait for everyone to hear them."
