Organizers of a popular Peachland quiz event found an answer to the question of what to do with surplus funds they raised - donate them.
The quiz, which started in November 2022, has been held every two weeks from fall to summer at Royal Canadian Legion Branch #69. There is a $2 fee per player to cover the cost of prizes.

He added organizers are grateful to the Legion for providing space for the event. The quiz, which was the idea of Peachland resident Maggie Lovelock, would not be the success it is without the support of the players.
"It's their money," said co-quiz master Barry Snell. "We just do the questions and it's nice to give back."
The $1,500 donation was a welcome surprise to food bank president Judy Bedford.
"We do 700 visits a month," she said. "We do have a lot of families. It's a lot of seniors, and a lot of people on disability."
Bedford pointed out that food banks are vital in any community.
"This can happen to anybody. Going to the food bank is on nobody's bucket list."
She also said some people are not using food banks when they need to.
Donations can be dropped off at the food bank, the Peachland post office (or the pharmacy next door), or by contacting Bedford at 778.594.6312.
Texting is the preferred method for cash donations.
Food bank hours are 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. every Friday and every second Saturday from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
