Canada celebrated its musicians Sunday night (March 30) in Vancouver with the 2025 Juno Awards, and B.C.-born host Michael Bublé set the evening off on a patriotic note.
"We're artists, we're teachers, we're health-care workers, we're farmers, we're fishermen. We're the North, the Pacific, we're the Atlantic. We're the Great Lakes, we're the Rocky Mountains and we are the wide open spaces. Folks, we're one of a kind. We're beautiful," the Burnaby singer said.
"We're the greatest nation on Earth 㽶Ƶֱ and we are not for sale."
Bublé, who said he was "too proud" to host the awards, received lots of cheering from the audience for his comment. A clip of the speech, posted to the Juno Award's Instagram account garnered more than 228,000 views and 17,000 likes by Monday morning.
Calgary's Tate McRae took home four awards: Album of the Year and Pop Album of the Year, both for "Think Later," and Single of the Year Presented for "exes㽶Ƶֱ and Artist of the Year.
Anne Murray, while wearing a Canada hockey jersey, received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Sum 41 gave their final performance and were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame by Good Charlotte's Joel and Benji Madden.
