Tee off at Black Mountain Golf Course on June 22 and help putt for paws.
The annual golf tournament Putts for Paws is returning to raise funds for the Okanagan Humane Society.
Founded by Darcy and Karen Feth, this will be the fourth time the golf tournament has taken place in Kelowna.
香蕉视频直播淲hy we did is our love for animals, we really want to support animals in need and that is what OHS does,香蕉视频直播 said Darcy Feth.
He said the tournament is an opportunity for businesses and individuals to engage with each other and support a good cause.
All funds raised at the tournament will go to support animals in the Okanagan.
Marni Adams with OHS, said there has been a large increase in animals needing assistance in the region.
香蕉视频直播淔rom last year to this year, our numbers are trending well above what we did last year which was about 2,500 local animals in need. We are saving lives and changing lives for animals and people,香蕉视频直播 she said.
The average cost per animal in OHS care is $300 and the society cared for more than 2,500 animals in 2023.
This year the society has already seen its Rescue Program requests double the need, and requests for access to spay and neuter assistance have tripled under their Pet Assistance Program.
This bountiful kitten season highlights and emphasizes the importance of spaying and neutering pets and community animals, which is the mandate OHS was founded.
There is still room for a few more golfers and sponsors as well Feth is looking for more silent auction items.
There will be a shotgun start at 2 p.m. on June 22 at Black Mountain Golf Course.
