A 1980s Canadian pop staple is coming to Penticton's famed summertime festival.
New wave band Men Without Hats will headline the opening night of Penticton Peach Festival on Wednesday, Aug. 6, festival organizers announced.

The Montreal band burst on the scene in 1982 with its debut studio album, Rhythm of Youth.
Known worldwide for hits The Safety Dance and Pop Goes the World, the now Vancouver-based Men Without Hats are also recent inductees into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.
The band's current lineup is led by Ivan Doroschuk, who was on the group's debut record. Other members coming to Penticton include Sahara Doroschuk-Sloan, Sho Murray and drummer Adrian White.
Men Without Hats will perform on the Peter Bros. Grand Stage, inside Okanagan Lake Park. No tickets are required for any of the festival's events at the park.
The Penticton Peach Festival runs from Aug. 6 to 10.
