Hard-hitting lyrics, protest anthems and humour will be under the spotlight as the Snotty Nose Rez Kids come to town.

Polaris Music Prize and Juno Award nominated Canadian Indigenous hip-hop/rap artists Yung Trybez and Young D, known world-wide as Snotty Nose Rez Kids, are ready to rock Vernon as part of their current North American tour.

The Vernon & District Performing Arts Centre (VDPAC) presents the hip-hop performance on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 7:30 p.m. as part of the 2024-25 Spotlight Season香蕉视频直播檚 Special Presentations Series.

The dynamic duo from the Haisla Nation has made a significant impact on the international hip-hop scene. Known for their powerful storytelling and energetic performances, Snotty Nose Rez Kids香蕉视频直播 mainstage concert in Vernon is part of the Red Future Tour, performing 34 shows in major Canadian and U.S. cities, including Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto; as well as Denver, Salt Lake City, Portland, Minneapolis, Chicago and New York, from September to December.

Darren 'Young D' Metz and Quinton 'Yung Trybez' Nyce, originally from Kitamaat Village, B.C., emerged with their debut, self-titled album and follow-up The Average Savage in 2017. Their single Skoden was playlisted on CBC Music香蕉视频直播檚 Reclaimed and was named one of the year香蕉视频直播檚 100 best songs by CBC. In May 2018, they released the new single The Warriors and were signed to Jarrett Martineau香蕉视频直播檚 RPM Records. Their third album, Trapline, featuring the hit Boujee Natives, was released independently in May 2019 and shortlisted in June for the 2019 Polaris Music Prize, a Juno nomination and a 100-show tour across three continents. 

Their subsequent album in 2021, Life After garnered another Juno and 2022 Polaris Music Prize nomination and saw them perform at high-profile events like The Toronto Raptors and Vancouver Canucks games. Their 2022 release, I香蕉视频直播檓 Good, HBU? won a Prism Prize, made the Polaris Prize Shortlist and garnered three Western Canadian Music Awards.

In 2023, the Snotty Nose Rez Kids duo signed with Sony Music Canada and their video for Damn Right, directed by Sterling Larose, won the Prism Prize. In 2024, CBC Television announced that the duo was slated to star in an eponymous comedy television series, playing fictionalized versions of themselves prior to the rise to fame, which will premiere in the 2024-25 television season.

In the summer this year, Snotty Nose Rez Kids released their new single, Devil's Club, featuring Apsaalooke Nation artist Rezcoast Grizz, produced by BZA. This powerful track is the fourth from their just released album Red Future.
