Penticton is expected to be busier than usual this weekend as a pair of annual events bring extra foot traffic and road closures across the cityÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s downtown core.
HaHaHa Kidzfest comes to Gyro Park from June 6 to 8, with three full days of performances, activities, music, games and parades scheduled.
The festival is a ticketed event and will be fenced off.
While Martin Street will be open on Saturday, people are reminded that the 100 and 200 blocks of Main Street will still be closed for the weekly Penticton FarmersÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™ Market and Downtown Community Market.
The festival will also bring road closures to Martin Street, between Estabrook Avenue and Lakeshore Drive, on Thursday and Friday during the daytime for school buses to safely drop off students. The road will remain open to local residents only.
On Sunday, June 9, Wildstone ConstructionÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s Colour4Kids Run returns to the city and is set to bring hundreds of participants to run along the Okanagan Lake waterfront.
The all-ages event starts outside LocoLanding Adventure Park at 10 a.m., and drivers are asked to watch for signage and traffic control personnel in the area.
