After a multi-year hiatus, the Canadian Forces Snowbirds are once again set to soar over Penticton.

The nation's military aerobatics team will fly through the local skies on Aug. 6, as part of the opening of next summer's Penticton Peach Festival.

Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥œWeÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™re absolutely delighted to welcome the Snowbirds back to the Peach Festival. Big thank you to Peter Bros. Paving," said Shawna Tinga, president of Peachfest. Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥œTheir performances have always been a highlight of our event, and this year promises to be no different.

The pilots, who represent the Canadian Armed Forces, haven't appeared at the Penticton's iconic summertime festival since 2019.

Although booked to perform at the festival's 2022 edition, a crash in Fort St. John just days earlier forced the team to cancel the show.

The team's air show next summer will begin at 6 p.m., over Okanagan Lake, as it performs "dynamic routines feature jaw-dropping formations, synchronized maneuvers and gravity-defying stunts that have amazed millions across the country," according to event organizers.

Spectators are encouraged to arrive early to secure their spots in the area.

"ItÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s a thrilling experience for all ages and an incredible way to celebrate our community," Tinga said.

Penticton Peach Festival, one of the largest free festivals in Canada, returns to the city Aug. 6 to 10, 2025.
