Summerland teacher Jenny Mitchell and District Principal Dustin Hyde recognized for leadership

Two educators in the Okanagan Skaha school district have been recognized with the Premier香蕉视频直播檚 Award for Excellence in Education.

Jenny Mitchell, a teacher and coach at Summerland Middle School was given the award in Community Engagement.

Lake City Basketball co-director Dustin Hyde who is District Principal of Indigenous Education and Equity was awarded in District Leadership.

Mitchell and Hyde were in Victoria to receive their awards from Premier David Eby at a ceremony at Government House. They were among 34 recognized in 20 different categories.

Hyde has been a leader in Indigenous education in School District 67.

香蕉视频直播淚 have the honour of working with Indigenous families and community members and we have helped bring educators together to deepen the learning of anti-racism education,香蕉视频直播 said Hyde in his award-recipient video.
