Sixty-six years later, the North Okanagan still embraces the frightful final day of October.

Treat trails will be held for the young kids in downtown Vernon in an eight-block radius at businesses on 30th Avenue (27th Street to 34th Street ), presented by the Downtown Vernon Association, from 3-5 p.m.

In Armstrong, the treat trail will run from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Check out the Armstrong Spallumcheen Chamber of Commerce for a full list of participants before heading out.

Enderby's Treat Trail goes for three hours, from 2-5 p.m., from downtown ot Barnes Park. There will also be a Witches and Warlocks Flash Mob at 3 p.m. The Royal Canadian Legion will be serving hot dogs and hot chocolate by donation from 2-5 p.m.

There's a haunted house to visit in Vernon at 2505-39th Avenue from 4-6 p.m., and again from 7-9:30 p.m. (evening performance as well Friday, Nov. 1). It's free admission though there is a suggest donation of $5. Proceeds go to the Vernon Food Bank.

Field of Screams continues its horror run at the Historic O'Keefe Ranch.

Fireworks displays will be held in Coldstream, BX (at the fire hall), Lumby, Armstrong and Enderby.
