For a volunteer who spends his time with almost a dozen different community organizations, Penticton's Wayne McDougall was recently recognized and rewarded for their efforts.

The South Okanagan Community Connections Volunteer Centre partnered with with McLeod & Schneiderat Lawyers to put together five draws of $500 WestJet gift certificates to reward the volunteers that help make the many organizations and events in the region run smoothly.

At the annual volunteer appreciation breakfast, part of national volunteer appreciation week in April, the centre hosts a free pancake breakfast with the City of Penticton.

This year, the centre announced that all the volunteers would be entered into the draw when they volunteered, with the more volunteering increasing their chances of winning.

McDougall is the second volunteer selected, and he has put his energy into volunteering for Shaw Community Access TV, Salvation Army Food Bank, Young at Heart Singers, Penticton Tune-Agers, Penticton Senior Drop-in Centre, Okanagan Gleaners, Canadian Food for Children, Penticton Scottish Festival and Highland Games and the Naramata Scottish Country Dancers Society and Penticton Community Soupateria.

"Wayne is a community champion and is connected to making an impact on his community through volunteerism," said Subrina Monteith, the volunteer centre's executive director. 香蕉视频直播淗e is a perfect example of someone who cares so deeply about his community that he invests his time and energy to make his community a better place for everyone."

The Soupateria in particular was recognized for the service it provides to the community, serving up between 40,000 and 50,000 lunches each year and funded entirely through the support of the community's donations.

"We recognize the hard work and dedication of our local volunteers who make this community a place we are all proud to call home," said one of the firm's partners, Megan Amanda McLeod. 香蕉视频直播淭hey enrich our lives and support the feeling of community and the feeling of belonging. We look forward to continuing our support of volunteers and the events and organizations that they in turn support.香蕉视频直播
