The first annual Oyama Festive Lights Paddle was a success.
Taking to the waters of Wood Lake on Dec. 29, those who were brave enough decked out their kayaks and paddle boards with lights and met at Oyama Hall Beach.
A small bonfire was made on the beach to greet those who paddled around the lake upon their return.
Many dressed up in holiday attire, adding lights, bells and Santa hats to their kayaks.
The event was the first of its kind in Oyama and was organized by the Wood Lake Water Witches.
The Wood Lake witches are a group that plans a paddle on the waters every October, as they don witchy attire, with brooms and all.
Wood Lake was also a scene of activity on New YearÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s Day when dozens sauntered into the water for a polar bear dip.
