Several thousand people lined the sidewalks and filled Gyro Park on Dec. 1 for Penticton's Magic on Main. 

The parade included dozens of vehicles and many more people walking alongside, either handing out treats, singing or just dancing along. 

The crowds collapsed into a single mass as the parade made its way to Gyro Park, falling in behind Santa and Mrs. Claus on their sleigh. 

The park itself was packed to the brim as they awaited Santa flipping the switch to power on the park's lights. Almost everything worked, except for one set that stubbornly took a minute to get going. 

"We've got to double check the wiring on the switch, but I think the Grinch might have had a hand in things," Mayor Julius Bloomfield said. "But we beat the Grich and everything worked in the end."

The tunnel of lights made its return, and was once again a major hit, with the whole length quickly filling with people and more lined up to walk through it. 

The whole event was a collaboration between the Downtown Penticton Business Improvement Area and the the City of Penticton.
