PHOTOS: 5th Parade for a Purpose takes place in downtown Kelowna for 1st time

Thousands of Kelowna residents were in attendance

An annual Christmas parade in Kelowna was a success once again, but this time, in its new location.

On Saturday, Dec. 14, the fifth annual Parade for a Purpose took place in downtown Kelowna, on Bernard Avenue. The first four renditions took place in Kettle Valley.

A number of floats from many different organizations and companies in the community took part in the parade from Abbott Street, down Bernard to Bertram Street.

Thousands of Kelowna residents were feeling the Christmas spirit and cheer as Bernard Avenue was lined with people the entire parade route.

According to the Parade for a Purpose website as of Dec. 14, the event has raised nearly $213,000, which all goes to the .
