Fine tune those chess skills because this tournament will test your brain.

Mount Boucherie Secondary is hosting a Beginners Luck tournament from 9 a.m. to noon, Feb. 18. This is a fun first event for children in Grades Kindergarten to 6 who understand most of the rules of chess. Every effort will be made to match children by ability.

Registration at the door is $10 and includes a pizza lunch, snacks, and door prizes.

Chess is a platform for coaching children to slow down and think more carefully before acting impulsively in the game.

Children of all abilities are welcome. Encourage parents to support and cheer on their children during the action.
