Lake Country Deputy Chief Brent Penner cranked the siren ahead of the third period at the Vancouver Canucks game on Wednesday, Oct. 30 when the team held their annual Firefighters night.

A couple Lake Country firefighters were honoured as the Vancouver Canucks hosted their annual Firefighters night on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

Captain Ryan Murdain and Deputy Chief Brent Penner were in attendance, along with 122 other firefighters from across the province as the Canucks took on the New Jersey Devils.

Penner even got to sound the siren to mark the start of the third period.

After the game, the firefighters got to meet Canucks captain Quinn Hughes, along with his two brothers who both play for New Jersey.

Last season, Captain Quinn also started Team 43, a program that donates tickets to first responders.

The Canucks fell to the Devils 6-0.
