Prepare to perform your best downward dog or bridge pose, as the Heartfulness Institute Canada celebrates its 50th anniversary on International Yoga Day.
The event will be held in collaboration with the Consulate General of India-Vancouver, Summerland Hindu Temple, Kelowna Hindu Temple, West Cabs, Scout Security, Yin Yoga and Okanagan Ayurveda.
Taking place in Kelowna on June 22 at the Trinity Church, 1905 Springfield Road, the celebration aims to promote holistic health and build Inter-faith communities, unity and peace through the heartfulness practices of yoga and meditation.
International Yoga Day takes place around the world and underscores the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga and meditation, encouraging individuals from all walks of life to experience its transformative power.
In Kelowna, MP Tracy Gray, Mayor Tom Dyas city councillor Mohini Singh and a Heartfulness volunteer will join yogis at the event.
Starting at 10:45 a.m. until 1 p.m. the program will include:
鈼 Chair Yoga: Accessible and gentle yoga exercises suitable for all ages and abilities. Relaxation Techniques: Guided relaxation sessions to induce a state of calm and mental clarity.
鈼 Meditation: Heartfulness meditation sessions to foster inner peace and spiritual well-being.
鈼 Special Addresses: Speeches by Tracy Gray, MP, and Mayor Tom Dyas, emphasizes the importance of the Inter-Faith community and its holistic well-being.
